What are the complications of heat stroke?

Dr. Sai Kiran Kumar K also says that the complications of heatstroke include nausea, dizziness seizures, etc. because of encephalopathy. It can cause acute renal failure. It also causes rhabdomyolysis, which is the destruction of muscles. It can also cause hepatocellular injury, myocardial complications, and hemorrhage complications.

In addition to what both Doctors said above, Dr. Sarath Chandr Rellu stated that heat stroke is a multisystem insult that can potentially affect every organ system. Possible complications include vital organ damage and death. The complications are encephalopathy, rhabdomyolysis, acute renal failure, acute respiratory distress syndrome, myocardial injury, hepatocellular injury, intestinal ischemia or infarction, pancreatic injury. Hemorrhagic complications include pronounced thrombocytopenia and DIC.
